It’s that time a year again when the rumors start to fly about the new Samsung Galaxy S5. Samsung Electronics Co. will release its Galaxy S5 smartphone by April and is contemplating using eye scanner technology for the first time as it readies the high-end handset to compete with Apple Inc.’s iPhones.
Their new flagship model phone will be pair with a new Galaxy Gear smart watch.
“We’ve been announcing our first flagship model in the first half of each year, around March and April, and we are still targeting for release around that time,” Lee said. “When we release our S5 device, you can also expect a Gear successor with more advanced functions, and the bulky design will also be improved.”
Ever since Apple released their iPhone 5S with fingerprint-identity sensor, Samsung has been working hard on their own technology, i.e “eye scanner”.
“Many people are fanatical about iris recognition technology,” Lee said at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. “We are studying the possibility but can’t really say whether we will have it or not on the S5″
The G5 is rumored to have the same leather back like it’s big brother Note 3, along with an octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM , and a 6-megapixel camera. But again these are all rumors and we wont know anything until Samsung makes it’s official announcement.
So until then we will have to wait and see.
